Give yourself and your family a Christmas treat and join in this magical experience!

Communities in Schools

Look for the pieces of armor in Roberts Hall and help add to the offering that is being taken up during our morning adult and youth classes. The money goes for food put into backpacks that go home with children on the weekends who otherwise would go hungry. Thank you for showing these children that someone cares!

Ripples of Change

Ripples of Change is based in Ottawa and it serves local residents with education and new social networks to fight poverty. ‘Poverty, Inc.’ is an in-depth look at the long-lasting human impacts of foreign aid. It tells the stories of entrepreneurs in developing countries filling the gaps left by foreign aid organizations. The lessons learned from the global fight are similar in nature to our local fight. On Sunday, November 18th there will be a screening and discussion of the ‘Poverty, Inc.’ documentary held at the Ottawa University Student Union from 2:30 pm-4:00 pm. There will be a free-will donation to benefit Ripples of Change that will be accepted at this event.

Be the Church Sunday ~ October 21st

A HUGE THANK YOU for our first ‘go’ at ‘Be the Church’ Sunday! It was very successful thanks to all of you!!! Special thanks to Paula Patterson and Melissa Pippin who headed up this event as well as the Mission and Outreach Team for their role. For all of you who remained for the potluck, what excitement filled Roberts Hall with sharing the stories of our experiences helping at Hope House and LifeCare Center, around the neighborhood of Westminster and in the building making soup mix bags to pass out to our community friends, baking cookies to give to our visitors and decorating Thanksgiving bags for the ones we donate to Hope House. What a very special day!! We can’t wait to do it again!

Natural Disasters ~ How Can You Help?

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) urges your support for those affected by Hurricane Florence. PDA is delivering immediate aid to those impacted by the storm on the Eastern Seaboard. Initial assessment suggests catastrophic destruction, but the full scope of the damage will not be known for many months. PDA is deploying teams to affected presbyteries to meet with Presbyterian and community leadership to assist in coordinating relief efforts and mucking out homes and churches. After initial needs are addressed, PDA will remain ~ providing spiritual and emotional care and long-term recovery to address the unmet needs of those impacted.

Drink a Gallon of Milk or Water for our Rowdy Wranglers!

Our ‘Rowdy Wranglers’ of Caleb, Carter, and Logan Hepner as well as Andrew and Kale Patterson are looking for your help. They are in need of gallon jugs for their Christmas float for their 4-H Club. Please keep your gallon jugs and bring them to church on Sundays. The boys will be looking for you at the Welcome Center and be so grateful for your support.

Thank you for helping these great kids!

Also needed are: men’s socks, men’s jeans and queen size sheets. If anyone has old barn wood to donate, it would be appreciated.
